Purple Red Onion

Oil on panel 4 x 5 inches

"Is that a grape in there?"

"Yes."

"Onions and grapes don't go together."

Nope. Not according to my taste. I've had some interesting salads, but I can't recall that combination. In a still life, however, it's enough that things go together visually. They may relate in color or shape. Art salads are different from the other kind.

I think I had sliced grapes - and sliced, red onions - in a salad once, in Germany. A bit of grilled chicken, some blue cheese, maybe... yum.

But not as nice as your work, Bruce Hedges Fine Art. Yum, yum, yummy.

I remembered the taste of grape and the scent of onion when I looked at this painting. Very evocative. I love the colors.

You are truly a fine artist. Do you have anything larger for purchase?

Try 'em in chicken salad with apples and pecans and celery. They're Great! Wow your paintings are so pretty. Vibrant!!!!! Love them more every time I see them.

I've been staring at your Purple Red Onion for quite a while. I was reminded of the joke you posted about the artists changing the light bulb, except I was thinking, "I wouldn't know how to do that!" You do so well on capturing the right colors. As one who tried to paint in the past, that ain't so easy to do!

Beautiful work!

Fantastic! The touch of grapey sweetness makes it really interesting. It makes me want to have a glass of wine and cook something - and I don't cook!

If I could just say one thing about this painting it would be that you must make your mom proud. Not many people have the guts to put themselves "out there". Encore!
