This is a small quick sketch. Enlarging a small drawing makes it look less refined, rougher. Reducing the size has the opposite effect, refining the image. This head is about one and three quarters inch high. From a magazine photo.

This started as a 30 minute sketch, but I spent probably another 10 minutes fixing things before I shot it and posted it. From my file of magazine photos titled "Photos for practice drawings."

From a figure drawing class at California Art Institute. When it's enlarged a lot, the printing dot pattern shows up. So it's best to look at it at a smaller size. I shot this from a school brochure.
