Here is another example of a school drawing. Charcoal drawing is really painting in black and white. The only difference between drawing and painting is the matter of color, and the process of applying paste with a brush instead of dry pigment. All the other aspects are the same. It makes a lot of sense to go to an advanced, or at least intermediate level in drawing before getting into painting. I think the learning curve is faster. Less frustrating, too.
